June 2012 Mission Team Inc took part in a 2 day training clinic in Puerto Cabeza Nicaragua that touch the lives of 77 + Nicaraguan Police officers. Training included things like community policing, How to reach youth today, Integrity as a Police Officer, and Family Issues for Police Officers. The Training was well recieved and the Police Commissioner Yuri Valle told the team two things that were very noteworthy. First He said, "Help for the police has come from a place I thought most unlikely- the church." and then upon completion of the training He spoke tot he team after giving several gifts of appriciation saying, "Please come back as soon as you can, and as often as you can."
The team has already begun making plans for a team to further expand the good realtionship established this year and to continue the witness of the power fo the Lord Jesus Christ to work even in and through the work of the Nicaraguan National Police Department.
Officers Gene Burell and Wiliam (Bill) Rogers did a great job of leading in much of the training and both officers would like to return next year.
