Mission Team Inc is no stranger to the many needy and beautiful people of Nicaragua. Work began in 1995 by Scotty in the city of Managua. Moving to the East Coast in 1998 teams have made many trips to this lovely Latin American country. Rosemary Chatfield of Prayer Partners International began working about the same time. During the Evangelistic Crusades of 1996 Eastside Baptist began work at Corn Island and Rosemary was integral part of this work. Two members of the Board of Mission team Inc were also on the East Coast in a Second Crusade in 1998 in the area of Haulover and Pearl Lagoon. Tim Welch and Chris Garrett had wonderful experiences as evangelist and leaders to this community 13 years ago. Now we are all uniting forces to establish a HOUSE Of PRAYER at Haulover. The photo shows the location that the Lord is providing to establish the House of Prayer.
What does this mean?
A home will be set up in the community to develop Christ Centered work to reach the community for Christ.
Who will be there?
The home will be staffed by a young Nicaraguan Missionary couple. Dennis and Dorcas will be moving into the House of Prayer in October of 2011 to lead the area in Church planting, leadership development and Community development. Dennis is from Corn Island and knows the area well. His new wife Dorcas is from Tipitapa Nicaragua and has many talents and gifts to reach children and young adults with the Gospel.
What will be done?
1. A base will be established in the House of Prayer to enable Short Term Teams to come easily and work in the surrounding areas.
2. A daycare and youth development center will be developed soon (land has already been donated) to Impact the young people and care for street children on a daily basis.
3. The House of Prayer will enable and develop many projects for the entire area to give rise to education, health improvement, and evangelism in the entire region.
Who can be a part?
We are planning to include many individuals, churches and organizations in this effort. We need prayer, participation, and financial support.
Mission Team Inc and Prayer Partners International are combined on this effort but we need your willingness to get involved in missions for this effort to be all that it can be for Our Lord. We will need your financial support on a monthly basis plus your one time gifts to establish the House of Prayer with the many construction projects we will soon undertake.
