The last Trip to Nicaragua MTI worked of course with Burnt Hickory on the trip and one of the things we were able to do was provide video. Chris Godfrey has put some of this video together into a short clip that can now be seen on youtube. This short clip will tell you just a little about the people in the very remote village of Musawas Nicaragua. Pray for the teams working in the area and all that God will do to bring the Truth of the Gospel to these very beautiful people.
Wednesday morning the team awoke to find that the storms of the previous night were not only lingering but were likely to continue all day. Plans had to be changed. The crane to set the big trusses was postponed till Thursday morning. The team went to the Dayton Air Museum and took what is referred to as the excursion day a day early because of the rain. A small crew of guys stayed back and worked on the building to finish up some decking and set the trusses over the front porch which really changed the appearance of the building one more time. The big trusses should get set Thursday AM bringing the building one more step closer to the dried in stage. The whole team was in great spirits eating out at the Golden Corral on Wednesday eveing and enjoying a fellowship that was really sweet.
Builders for Christ 25th Annual Trip is moving along very well with no major difficulties and no one injured so keep on praying for this team. Each days progress is now showing up as you look back at the previous day to see the sections adding each day. Tomorrow at 8 am a big crane will be in place to begin setting the large roof trusses that span the multi-purpose room in the church. Pray for safety and for a smooth installation and then look back tomorrow night for one more picture showing the building as it will be near to dryed in point in construction.
The arrival at the site on Thursday was a site we did not want to see as the slab was not poured and the building was not backfilled and there were no roof trusses or steel on the job. We went to be last night knowing what the plan was that the pouring crew would be there at 4 AM. Now a full working day later we have a slab with most of the outside wall plates installed, the entire building backfilled on the outside, steel not only on the job but set up, half of the trusses delivered and most of the wall layout completed. Hopefully tommorrow we will (If the Lord blesses) raise a good many walls. Above is a photo at 7 am and below is a photo at 7 PM. What a differance a day makes.
May the 8th the Team departed for the Rain Forest on the Bosawas Reserve in Eastern Nicaragua. There will be basically 3 days of travel to get there and 3 days of clinic and then 3 days of travel to return home. It is a very difficult and tiring trip. Pray for strength for the team. Pray for protection and for the Lord to work among the Mayagna people. Scotty Will be back available on May 18th for email and phone calls.
