Mission Team Inc Looks Ahead to 2012

Mission Team Inc had it's start in April of 2004. Leaving Burnt Hickory as the Minister of Missions Scotty Davis planned to help others be involved in short term missionts. Scottty along with Board members Chris Garrett and Tim Welch started the organization with a hope to enable, equip and encourage people to be on mission for God. Two years later Scotty left the pastorate and began full time effort at promotion, educations and of course participation in many vaired mission efforts. Looking back on these seven years of ministry we see many highlights.

Partnerships to develop and promote missions within many churches and organizations.
A Schoralship program for 3 years to educate and train over 60 people as well as supply $250.00 scholarship with a total dispersion of over 16,000.00.
Mission Trips to 9 different Countries and a dozen differnt states and Washington DC.
Established and developed new idea in Mission every year.
Established the Burnt Hickory Bible Institute and recruited and trained multiple other training points for the Bible Training Center for Pastors

Now as Mission Team Inc looks ahead to 2012 Mission Team Inc we are opening an office for the work of Mission Team Inc as well as establishing a location for Blue Hope Counseling.

Blue Hope Counseling is going to become a dynamic ministry to the world of Law Enforcement. BHC will proive counseling service as well as provide proactive programs to disciple law enforcement personnel. We will work under the umbrella and along side of Ken Johnson at East West Psychotherapy at 2655 Dallas Highway Marietta GA. The future looks bright. But we need your contiued support both by prayer, encouragement, as well as financial support.

YOUR Support

Mission Team Inc exist to do a multitude of things. The Ministry of Scotty Davis is three fold. Here is a brief explanation of this ministry.

Short-term missions programming- Scotty works very hard at connecting, training, and being a part of short term mission projects. An Acts 1:8 strategy is not only taught but lived out as there are local, regional, national, and international projects that are part of the work of MTI.
Law Enforcement Chaplaincy - Scotty has been serving the Cobb County Police Department for 10 Years and the Kermit Sanders Fraternal Order of Police Local Lodge for 8 years as Chaplain. He has now been asked to serve as an Associate Chaplain for the State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police for Georgia. In addition he serves in supporting roles with POST, CCLEA, and is often asked to speak or lead representing Law Enforcement.
Local Ministry- Scotty works in the community as a counselor, supply preacher, and life group teacher. In addition MTI is a very active partner with the Bible Training Center for Pastors and teaches at the Burnt Hickory Baptist Church Bible Institute.

This is a very broad scope of the ministry of Mission Team Inc. The ministry has multiple partners in ministry and has made a difference in the lives of many people. But your support is needed. The tough economic times have taken a toll on many ministries including MTI. We need first of all General support for the Ministry and then some specific things that Mission Team Inc is involved with on an ongoing basis. Here is a list of the needs we have:

General Support- This is support fort Scotty Davis and his family as well as the funding of the ongoing ministry of Mission Team Inc expenses for travel and administrative cost.
Nicaragua House of Prayer- This is a partnership with Prayer Partners International to establish a point of ministry in Haulover Nicaragua.
Jeff Andrews Pastoral Training Fund- Mission Team Inc received a gift two years ago in memory of Jeff Andrews who was a short term missionary to Lesotho. This money has become base to establish this fund to provide material and Bibles for pastor who desperatly need theological training in Lesotho and around the world.

Please consider a gift to this ministry or even better ongoing monthly or quarterly support will enable and equip many to do the Kingdom's work.

Prayer Partners International and Mission Team Inc Combine to Develop a House of Prayer

Mission Team Inc is no stranger to the many needy and beautiful people of Nicaragua. Work began in 1995 by Scotty in the city of Managua. Moving to the East Coast in 1998 teams have made many trips to this lovely Latin American country. Rosemary Chatfield of Prayer Partners International began working about the same time. During the Evangelistic Crusades of 1996 Eastside Baptist began work at Corn Island and Rosemary was integral part of this work. Two members of the Board of Mission team Inc were also on the East Coast in a Second Crusade in 1998 in the area of Haulover and Pearl Lagoon. Tim Welch and Chris Garrett had wonderful experiences as evangelist and leaders to this community 13 years ago. Now we are all uniting forces to establish a HOUSE Of PRAYER at Haulover. The photo shows the location that the Lord is providing to establish the House of Prayer.

What does this mean?

A home will be set up in the community to develop Christ Centered work to reach the community for Christ.

Who will be there?

The home will be staffed by a young Nicaraguan Missionary couple. Dennis and Dorcas will be moving into the House of Prayer in October of 2011 to lead the area in Church planting, leadership development and Community development. Dennis is from Corn Island and knows the area well. His new wife Dorcas is from Tipitapa Nicaragua and has many talents and gifts to reach children and young adults with the Gospel.

What will be done?

1. A base will be established in the House of Prayer to enable Short Term Teams to come easily and work in the surrounding areas.

2. A daycare and youth development center will be developed soon (land has already been donated) to Impact the young people and care for street children on a daily basis.

3. The House of Prayer will enable and develop many projects for the entire area to give rise to education, health improvement, and evangelism in the entire region.

Who can be a part?

We are planning to include many individuals, churches and organizations in this effort. We need prayer, participation, and financial support.

Mission Team Inc and Prayer Partners International are combined on this effort but we need your willingness to get involved in missions for this effort to be all that it can be for Our Lord. We will need your financial support on a monthly basis plus your one time gifts to establish the House of Prayer with the many construction projects we will soon undertake. Mission Team Plans for Summer 2011

This summer will be an exciting time for Mission Team Inc. We have several major events planned including....

Misson Trip to Moab Utah - June 7 - 18th The team will be removing the old roof of the First Baptist Church and installing a new roof system with new trusses, decking and metal roof. In addition we will roof a second building and do assorted repairs and modification on existing structures.

Preaching Father's Day at King Spring Baptist - June 19th - Pastor Jamie will be a the Southern Baptist Convention and has given me the privilge to preach to my father and father in law on this special day.

Anchorage Alaska Training in BTCP Teaching - July 22 - 29th - NAMB missionaries Babs and Alan Dial have asked us to come and train the Directors of Missions and the Alaskan Baptist convention Staff in the use of the Bible Training Center for Pastors material. What a great opportunity to equip leaders for the future.

Lesotho Africa August 22 -30th- Scotty will be returning to the Mountains to once again train pastors with Missionary couple Jim and Teresa Flora. There will be likely a group of about 10 pastors. Bruce Hambrick pastor of Life's Hope on Hicks Road in Marietta GA will be traveling and co teaching with Scotty.

In addtion to this the Fall Semester of the Burnt Hickory Bible Institue will begin on August the 2nd with Classes on the Old Testament on Tuesday or a second class on Wednesday night. In addtion to this new students may enroll in a new class on Bible Study Methods and Interpetation starting on August the 10th.

Builders for Christ 2011 Moab Utah

No doubt about it this year's Builders for Christ Team will be fantastic. The week will be June 11-18 and the place is Moab Utah. Moab is the 4 wheel drive captital of the world with hundreds of miles of off road trails and roads. It is also home to the Arches National Park. Lesotho 2010 a New Look for the Basotho People

No doubt about it Jim and Teresa Flora and their three beautiful daughters are called to serve the Basotho People of the Maluti mountains. The trip to Lesotho Nov 3-11 was very fast, but very full in the sense of what was actually accomplished. The purpose was two fold, first a final decision had to be made about the building of a Resource Center near Katsee, and second to restablish work with the Flora Family as they have reeplaced Alan and Babs Dial. This beautiful couple has three grown and married sons here in the USA and they also have three beautiful adopted daughters. Grace (12) is from India and the other two girls Anna (11) and Rebekah (7) are from Haiti. The family is on that is filled with love and passion for missions. Pray for this family as they labor to take the Gospel to Villages all across the mountains. I had a beautiful experiance on this last trip with these great new friends.
